What’s New at Swee Lee This Week?

This week Swee Lee has some exciting new drums and accessories to check out from Tama, plus a limited edition release of one of the most iconic distortion pedals ever made—The BOSS DS-1. We also see an upgrade to some of our most popular studio monitors…

Tama Silverstar Mirage Limited Edition Cocktail Jam Drum Kit

If you’re looking for a drum kit that sounds big but doesn’t take up much space, this could be just what you need. It has a 12″ snare, 16″ kick and two toms, plus hardware for a cymbal and fixed hi-hats, but it fits in two gig bags—and onto even the smallest stage. What’s more, you can play it standing up if you like, so no more will you hear “I liked the band – who was the drummer?” This kit—with its eye-catching limited edition clear acrylic finish—will definitely make you the centre of attention!

Tama 6X14 SLP Fat Spruce Snare Drum Wild Satin Spruce

While we’re on the subject of amazing drums from Tama, check this out. You don’t often see snare drums in spruce, but as it’s been used in guitars for years, it makes sense that it’s a very musical wood. This beautiful snare is one of Tama’s Sound Lab Project snares, and has a warm, resonant sound, thanks to its 7mm 8-ply shell. It also has die-cast hoops and great-looking tube lugs. Of course, any snare isn’t just about looks, but sound, too. Check out the Tama video here.

Boss DS-14A 40th Anniversary Distortion Pedal

BOSS introduced their first stomp box effects pedals back in 1977, followed one year later by the iconic DS-1, their first distortion pedal. This hard-working little box soon became a favourite of guitar players everywhere, and even helped some of music’s biggest names create and define their sounds. Now, to mark the 40th Anniversary of BOSS pedals, it’s back. In black. This limited edition design will only be available in 2017, so get your hands (and feet) on one soon!

KRK V Series 4 Nearfield Monitors

You want the music you love and the music you make to sound as good as possible. KRK’s Nearfield monitors have been designed with the help of hundreds of studio engineers and producers to create a remarkable new range of monitors. These Series 4 monitors have 49 Selectable EQ settings, so you can adjust them to suit the room shape, the placement of the monitors or just what your own ears are telling you.
